Common service centres to generate 400,000 jobs

The Indian Government's initiative common service centre (CSS) will generate around 400,000 direct employment opportunities and as many as indirect jobs in rural India. While inaugurating a conference on 'Common Service Centres: The Change Agents', the Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar, stated that the scheme was likely to generate over 400,000 direct jobs opportunities as well as indirect employment avenues of a like number in rural India.
Congress to set up Internet kiosks across India to attract youth

The Congress party is setting up hundreds of Internet kiosks across the country, including 50 in Gujarat, to promote an online campaign to register youth members and inform them about the central government's initiatives.
Bangladesh Telecentre establishes e-Centre

Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN) has established a number of telecentres and Community e-Centres (CeC) to provide local language content for the users besides serving as e-services centre. They will also be established under SASEC programme Telecentres can provide various services in health, agriculture and education.
Internet kiosks soon in rural post offices in India

After successfully completing modernisation of 500 post-offices in rural areas under the initial two phases of Project Arrow, the Department of Postal Services is planning to expand this project to 4,500 post offices across India, providing its customers efficient services through use of modern technology.
Malwai Government opens telecentre

The Government of Malwa has opened a telecentre in the southern region district of Thyolo in oder to improve ICT development in rural areas. The telecentre is equipped with Internet, fax machine, telephones and library fully furnished with modern books.
Rwanda installs Internet kiosks nationwide

As a part of e-Government project, the Government of Rwanda has started to install Internet Kiosks throughout the country. The project is aimed to encourage the use of ICT in public service delivery.
