5 new community radio stations in Tamil Nadu

Soon, five more community radio centres would be set up in Tamil Nadu soon, said R Sridhar, director of Commonwealth Education Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA). 18 out of the 44 community radio centres across the nation were funded by the Department of Science and Technology. Among the stations, 14 undertook science programmes for women and four broadcast programmes of ‘save earth’ concepts.
Children being trained to produce radio programmes

A group of 35 children from Patna, Gaya, Lakhisarai and Samstipur districts are being trained these days to produce radio programmes. The goal is to set up community radio stations at the aforesaid places by the end of next year which would be run by these very children.
IIT Bombay students launch web campus radio

Students from IIT Mimbai have been inspired from leading universities like MIT, Harvard, etc., that have their own community radio station. IIT Mumbai students have launched LAN based radio station with a platform voice their opinions, take part in debates and allow them to be more informed.
Himachal Pradesh gets first community radio station

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has approved a grant to Himvani Radio to establish, maintain and operate wireless community radio station in Solan district of Himanchal Pradesh. Himvani Radio MSPICM 90.4 FM is a venture floated by the M S Panwar Institute of Communication and Management (MSPICM).
SMART starts community radio station Mewat, Haryana

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India has signed a Grant of Permission Agreement for establishing, maintaining and operating a Community Radio Station at Nuh, Mewat, Haryana.
Maharashtra to have one more community radio station
16 March 2009

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has given its approval for setting for setting up a community radio station (CRS) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Babhaleshwar (Ahmednagar district), in Maharashtra.
